The Last Week of October at Kvartovsko Kino Grbavica Features a Special Programme

Kvartovsko Kino Grbavica is offering audiences a special programme and surprises during the last week of October!

The regular programme features horror films on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. On Saturday, 31 October, at 4 p.m., the animated film for all generations, PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie, will be screened as part of the regular programme. Before the film, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., we are offering face painting as a gift to our youngest audience members!

On Thursday, 29 October, at 7 p.m., audiences will have the opportunity to watch Obsession, directed by Curry Barker.

A young, hopeless romantic unleashes the power of a mysterious wish-granting object in an attempt to win the heart of the girl he is in love with. He gets exactly what he wished for, but soon discovers that some wishes come with a dark and sinister price. The film stars Michael Johnston, Inde Navarrette, Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless and Andy Richter.

On Friday, 30 October, at 7 p.m., audiences can watch Backrooms, which takes viewers into the disturbing dimension of so-called “liminal spaces” — a parallel world where reality falls apart, architecture shifts before your eyes, and unknown forces lurk in endless, empty spaces. What begins as an apparently harmless discovery soon turns into a nightmare from which there may be no return. Based on the viral YouTube series that became a global internet horror phenomenon, the film delivers a unique experience of terror — that unsettling feeling of having stepped into a place where you were never meant to be. The film is directed by Kane Parsons and stars Chiwetel Ejiofor and Renate Reinsve.

On Saturday, 31 October, at 7 p.m., the programme features Other Mommy, directed by Rob Savage from a screenplay by WGA Award winner Nathan Elston, the writer of the Emmy-winning hit series Succession. The screenplay is based on Bird Box, the New York Times bestselling novel by Josh Malerman.

From producer James Wan, one of the most influential figures in modern horror cinema, and Blumhouse Atomic Monster, the studio behind Backrooms: No Escape and Obsession, comes a terrifying film from promising genre director Rob Savage. The film takes us into the increasingly dark world of a young girl named Bela, who develops a relationship with a sinister entity in her home — a being that bears a startling resemblance to her own mother.

Oscar winner Jessica Chastain plays two roles: Bela’s mother and the “Other Mommy”, the manifestation of the supernatural entity. Jay Duplass plays Dad, Bela’s father, while Arabella Olivia Clark portrays Bela.
